BasisPortal (for Daimler ITF/FR)
Create a standard infrastructure for web-based portal applications deployed by Daimler Retail and Financial Service. Design and implement a central administration module to manage access rights to the portal applications.
IT requirements:
Deliver an Access & Identity Management module with an admin process that can be delegated, enabling standardized access to identity information. Ensure single sign-on through integration with the Global Authentication Service.
Solution:
TSS developed a User & Identity Management module, creating one of the central features for the future retail application platform. We also supported this solution across and beyond the software lifecycle. In addition, we leveraged our PAI know-how to optimize the architecture and security functionality in other subprojects. On the quality control side, we designed and implemented test cases for the entire system.

SuppoRT (for Daimler GR&AE)
Take over SuppoRT, a Lotus Domino-based web application, in 2005 and portal redesign, updates, maintenance and further development. SuppoRT is a workflow-based system for research project approval, planning and controlling.
IT requirements:
Role-based workflow for all relevant processes. A complicated rights structure with multiple variants added to the design and test challenges. Maintenance and ongoing development tasks in conjunction with system handover.
Solution:
TSS acquired the necessary system and process expertise, took over SuppoRT as scheduled and improved manageability significantly. We established an expert development team as a backbone for all further development tasks.

MSQ (for Daimler MCG)
Management support in controlling the quality of suppliers. Targeted improvements in supplier and component quality.
IT requirements:
High performance and compliance with all ITM/S security standards. Use of the latest Cognos version. Single sign-on.
Solution:
Our team of specialized requirements engineers documented customer requirements in great detail. TSS developed a web-based application that renders the quality of supplier processes and components completely transparent, providing a reliable basis for management decisions. The customer received a high performance, efficient reporting solution with various granularity steps.

GSSN (for Daimler GBM/ST)
Design and build an IT system to capture and analyze dealership data.
IT requirements:
Combination of reporting and analysis functionality. Simultaneous availability of the system on the Daimler employee portal and via the Internet aftersales platform.
Solution:
GSSN provides access to all sales-related location and network information for all group brands, representing the Daimler vertical sales organization. The system now supports central workflows directly, so users no longer need knowledge of system interdependencies. These process-oriented workflows increase efficiency and quality of data capture at the MPCs.

car2go (for Daimler BI)
Provide the IT backbone to support an innovative mobility concept. The concept is based on a pool of smart cars that need to be rapidly located and easily rented in a city.
IT requirements:
Analyze the business processes, develop the specifications for the car2go community portal and implement it, set up the backoffice and integrate telematics functionality, deliver the test and integration infrastructure and advise the customer on security issues.
Solution:
With the help of TSS, car2go transferred the city bike self-service concept to cars. High standards of performance and security were key success factors, given the large number of users and the need to process personal data. TSS was involved in every aspect of system development and delivered the CityCommunity and backoffice applications, thus providing the IT backbone for successful pilot rollout.

Autoline Niederlassung (for Daimler MBN)
Cooperation on the process standardization of the branches. Realiziation of these processes into Autoline
Dealer Management System (DMS). The solution will be implemented in 34 German branches with about 16,000 employees.
IT requirements:
Define and implement new standard processes and roll out Autoline to support key business processes at the pilot dealership. Test the new process and system landscape and prepare for company-wide rollout.
Solution:
TSS acted as the general contractor and project manager. Analyzing the existing process landscape at the Mainfranken branch, and plotting these findings against a blueprint of best practices, TSS designed a new process and system concept. This included developing an operating and support concept for the pilot subsidiary and for company- wide rollout. We also supported Mercedes-Benz with a far-reaching change management program, that included preparing and hosting training courses and various communication measures, plus a quality management service.
