IT Update for Ivo Gönner, Mayor of Ulm
During his annual visit at the Daimler location in Ulm on March, 5th, the Mayor of Ulm Ivo Gönner also visited Daimler TSS GmbH. The Chief Executive Officer Gerhard Streit led Mr. Gönner through the TSS facilities and provided information on current issues.
Ivo Gönner got an impression of the TSS software developers’ work by looking over their shoulder while they worked on the project car2go.
The round’s next stop took place at the TSS Telematic Lab. The importance of the laboratory as well as the reason why TSS maintains such a facility were explained to Mr. Gönner: The Telematic Lab provides an ideal environment for telematics projects, protecting the electronic vehicle components against electrostatic charges during development and testing.
The last stop was at the TSS Security Lab, where the security team presented the collaboration with Daimler AG in information security issues. A real life example helped explaining the current security threats from the Internet. Then Ivo Gönner learned how potential security weaknesses can be remediated.
Mr. Gönner thanked TSS for the lively presentations of interesting topics and took important impulses and impressions about the work of Daimler TSS.
