Business Solutions
In terms of application development, TSS produces high quality software solutions for the Daimler group. Business Solutions focuses on the Microsoft .NET and IBM Lotus Notes technological sectors as well as on the Business Intelligence products Cognos, Informatica and Microsoft BI which are of strategic importance to Daimler.
Offering services which range from requirements engineering, design and implementation right up to testing, rollout, support and maintenance, the Business Solutions team is able to provide comprehensive support throughout the entire life cycle of a software development project.
Our onsite developers work closely with the TSS offshore unit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – a unit which supports the team in Deutschy while also managing its own projects in the Asia Pacific economic region.
SAP Consulting and Custom Development
Practical experience and forward thinking are the two factors which make our technology consulting well-founded. The hallmarks of a TSS service are maximum focus on the customer and compliance with the IT standards of the Daimler group.
TSS constantly upgrades its know-how in terms of solutions which are based on standard industrial software. Here, the SAP Consulting & Custom Development (SAP CCD) department concentrates on SAP solutions.
SAP CCD supports projects such as Finance & Controlling projects by providing consulting, creates warehouse solutions in various sectors of the Daimler group and also monitors and supports the conception and development of multi-layered applications based on SAP NetWeaver.
Besides ensuring that our experienced staff continuously undergoes further training, SAP CCD also systematically trains and encourages young talent to give the Daimler group a competitive edge in know-how.
Enterprise Software Development
To develop complex software solutions, we need to have a high level of technological know-how and an understanding of the customer’s problems and requirements.
The Enterprise Software Development (ESD) department is to play an active role in software development within TSS. Our goal is to use our sound technological and technical knowledge to provide high quality software solutions. ESD focuses on Java technology as the basis for development and maintenance projects.
Our customers come from all parts of the Daimler group – from the central offices in Stuttgart, the plants such as Wörth, Germersheim or Düsseldorf, but also from the sales and finance departments such as those in Berlin. Our software solutions cater to a wide spectrum of situations ranging from internal department requirements with a small user group to solutions designed for the entire group with thousands of users or production related system solutions.
Combining the services we offer with close collaboration with other TSS departments, we are able to cover the entire software life cycle. We are here to provide you with a one-stop solution: from the initial requirements analysis, through the design, implementation and testing phases right up to the rollout and maintenance!
Consulting
TSS supports the Daimler group with its comprehensive range of IT consulting services. Besides our clearly defined service portfolio and wide technical knowledge, TSS strives to achieve optimal service delivery to the customer.
By offering services such as Business Process Modeling, Requirements Engineering or Technology Consulting, the Consulting department provides specific types of consulting for the individual phases of the project life cycle. We offer you guidance in terms of project management, quality and security throughout the project so that your project will succeed.

Test and Integration
TSS TIC – the TSS Test & Integration Centre – supports the Daimler group by playing a neutral role by evaluating the quality of software.
The Test and Integration department is an independent and objective IT partner, ready to perform quality measurements for all IT departments of the Daimler group to help them develop first-class applications. With the help of our test know-how which is constantly being upgraded (processes, tools, methods and qualified personnel) we are the strategic partner for Daimler software development projects.
Here at TIC, we view testing as an end-to-end service, starting with the tools, preparing the necessary environments right up to running the tests and making the quality of your software measurable. Our range of services includes the classical test services, hosting services for test environments and also Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Application Service Providing (ASP).
All our services are based on established international standards such as CMMI, TPI, TMAP, ITIL and ISO in conjunction with Daimler Standards (HBSG+B, Houston). Here at Test and Integration we use cutting edge tools supplied by leading vendors such as HP or Compuware. We rely on test solutions such as HP Performance Center and QualityCenter and we also have access to special tools which make it possible to significantly reduce the workload when testing functionality or other requirements.
Automotive Retail
Maximizing the Daimler group’s strength at the Point of Sales by using the latest in IT – that is what drives TSS Automotive Retail (TSS AR). Focusing on customizing, rollout and Application Service Providing, this department is the Daimler group’s internal IT service provider in the field of sales.
TSS AR is an independent internal partner who supports the Daimler group by helping in the selection of the most appropriate IT solutions and by supplying IT know-how internally. Besides providing tailor-made software solutions, IT consulting and test services, we also deliver IT services of the highest quality to dealers. And thus TSS is actively contributing to Daimler’s efforts to secure their IT investments.
Our employees possess comprehensive technical knowledge, are highly flexible and are well-acquainted with the organizational structure of the Daimler group. Years of experience both at the national and international level make them reliable partners in the field of dealer IT.
TSS AR was formerly the IT department of smart GmbH which was responsible for the retail operations of the smart dealers. As part of the restructuring of smart gmbh held in December 2005, this department was integrated into DaimlerChrysler TSS GmbH – now Daimler TSS GmbH.
